The heat pump can be installed in smaller spaces than a traditional furnace system requires. More space is saved because there is no need to install components outside unlike a traditional air conditioner. Usually they will be 2 or 3 feet wide trenches that are 80 to 150 feet in length at 6 to 10 feet deep. There are a number of ways to achieve this depth including a chain trencher, backhoe, or bulldozer. A typical home will have 3 of these trenches however there are so many options.
