How much should my blood pressure fluctuate?
Well, a lot of fluctuation at this point in your pregnancy raises some flags. What they are concerned about is the potential for you to develop gestational hypertension and/or preeclamsia. Both can be harmful for you and the baby, and they occur after the 20th week of pregnancy. Since you were bordering on the upper limit for a healthy blood pressure it’s best that they keep an eye on it over the next month. I would recommend that they run a urinalysis to check for protein, which is a definite sign of preeclampsia. As a general answer, your blood pressure shouldn’t fluctuate by more than 20 or so. If they took your blood pressure after you exerted yourself though it will be higher than normal because your heart will be beating faster. I would definately recommend that you insist on a urinalysis to check for protein. If that comes out okay then you probably have nothing to worry about since you’re about a month out from delivery–but if you start having any strange symptoms like headach
