I also teach piano. I have a couple students that are younger and I charge $15.00 per lesson for a half an hour lesson once a week. It also depends on how long you have been teaching. If you are just getting into teaching lessons then I would say $10.00 a lesson for a half and hour lesson once a week. Just for the reason that you are learning just as much as your student. Over time then you can raise your price to the $15.00. Another thought is that I also deal with parents who might not be able to afford the $60.00 a month. (this is what $15.00 per lesson makes) And for me it is such a passion of mine and I don’t want anyone who really wants to learn not be able to due to money and so I will go as low as a family needs me to…within reason. But generally I don’t haven’t had a problem with famalies being able to pay but once. Usually if you tell them the price matter of factly then they don’t have an issue with it.
