How much should a person tip at the hairdressers?
That’s a pretty low tip, not even 10%. The stylist may have to pay booth rent as well as buy her own equipment. It varies from salon to salon. A tip is what ever you choose and can afford to give, but everyone remembers who tips well and who does not. If the stylist does a good job, at least a 15-20% tip is in order, she will be more likely to “squeeze you in” if she is pressed for time and in reality, may be more motivated to do a great job if she feels you really appreciate her work. If you are of course, not happy with her services, feel free to leave a low tip or none at all.
