How much protein will the membrane bind?
Here the question should not be what is the maximum amount of protein that can bind, but what is the maximum concentration that is biologically effective. In our model assays, maximum signal is generated after application of 1 µg/µL or less of protein. This can be used as a starting point for new assay development. (Recommendation: try concentrations between 0.1 and 10 µg/µL).
