How much protein is in an Egg Yoke?
You’ll see from the link that Mrs W. gave you that, by eating both parts of the egg, you would more than double the amount of protein you get from eating the yolk alone. I know where you are coming from though, I don’t like egg white either but the advantage of eating both parts is that there is an enzyme in the white that counteracts the cholesterol intake from the yolk – thereby neutralising it. Doesn’t work if you fry it though – that kills off the enzyme. The way that I got into eating whole egg was to soft boil it and mash it all up in a cup as if making egg mayo then pretend it was no different to anyone else’s boiled egg and dip away with my toastie soldiers (or shouldas as I called them in those days). Watch out though, hot boiled eggs are not kind to finger tips!
