How much power will the wind farm produce?
Subject to lease consent being obtained, the exact type of turbine which will be used for the proposed Oriel Windfarm has not yet been determined, at present it is anticipated that each turbine will be capable of producing 6MW of power each. When the 55 turbines are completed the wind farm will be capable of supplying the national grid with up to 330MW of electricity. This is equivalent to the electricity used to power 250,000 homes.
