How much popcorn and oil do I need to pop popcorn in a Stir Crazy corn popper?
See chart below for recommended amounts of popcorn and oil to use to pop different quantities. If using premium or gourmet popcorn, reduce the amount of corn to 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and 1 1/4 cups respectively, using the same amount of oil. This will prevent the cover from lifting off the base due to the increased volume obtained using these grades of popcorn. For 2 quarts of popcorn use 1 tablesoon vegetable oil and 1/3 cup popcorn. For 4 quarts of popcorn use 2 tablespoons vegetable oil and 2/3 cup popcorn. For 6 quarts of popcorn use 3 tablespoons vegetable oil and 1 cup popcorn. For 8 quarts of popcorn use 3 tablespoons vegetable oil and 1 1/4 cup popcorn. For 8 quart model only; do not attempt to make this amount of popcorn in a 6 quart model. Attach stir rod to base with knob. Add oil and popcorn to base, cover with handles aligned and plug in.
