How much pollution do coal fueled power stations emit?
sagar_apte2005 Apr 28th, 2007 Coal fuelled power stations are also known as Thermal Power Stations. Extreme heat is generated in order to get the water boiling to steam to rotate turbines and generate electricity. The estimated amount of pollution for every plant varies and can be small or large, but the fact remains sure that as coal is a carbonaceous material, Large amounts of SOx, NOx and Particulates are emanated in the atmosphere. The vastness of the amount can be shown very easily. Just take a sample of rainwater from the areas in the vicinity of the Power station(Not the one fallen, but the one falling directly). Keep it for some time. If my theory is correct, there will be a layer of the particles above the water layer, or at bottom. Calculate the amount and you’ll have the result. This is my theory. It might be wrong as I am a student too.C ya. Like (Mr. Meaulnes likes this.) • Report No comments. Post one | Permalink Comments Add a comment…
