How much plant energy will be required for the separation and capture of the CO2?

0

The CES process, which enables CO2 capture, requires pure oxygen. Approximately 25‰ of the gross electricity generated is required to produce the oxygen in an air separation unit. After combustion, separation and capture of the CO2 occur in the CES process. Approximately 3‰ of the plant’s gross generated electricity is required to compress the CO2 to a pressure high enough for sequestration.
