How much performance overhead does Audit DB add to an audited server?
Audit DB imposes minimum performance on your system. For servers generating very high volumes of transactions, there will be some disk and network overhead. This processing can be scheduled for non-peak hours to further reduce system impact. It is also possible to audit a database server using another machine entirely for the audit data collection; this other machine requires only network access, for Oracle nothing needs to be installed on the database server machine in this case and for SQL server very little needs to be installed on the database server.
