How much overhead is involved with having DMS running in the Oracle HTTP Server, JServ, or my application code?

Very little. While the server runs, DMS updates counters and timers in memory. It does not use expensive traces, I/O, network packets, or JNI calls to measure performance. Benchmark results show that DMS adds less than 5% overhead at peak load and less than 1% most of the time.
