How much oil is actually used in the production of cartridges?

0

Cartridges are mostly made of plastic and plastic is made from petroleum (oil) products. The plastic in each toner cartridge takes 3.5 quarts of oil to fabricate. A new ink-jet cartridge requires 2.5 ounces of oil. In 2002, there were 29.7 million toner cartridges reclaimed; for ink-jets, that number was 136.5 million. So if you do the math (which we did), 28.6 million gallons of oil were saved. More recycling/remanufacturing can save even more oil. We can recycle your cartridges whether you buy from us or not!
