Always give year, make, engine size and model # when asking questions. We need all of that info to give an informed answer. Sometimes the year can make a difference. It holds less than a quart. NEVER just dump in the amount of oil that is suggested. To much, or to little oil, will have an affect on the engine. ALWAYS check the oil level when changing the oil. Hold the bike upright when checking the oil level (as if you were sitting on it). The oil level check bolt is on the right side crankcase cover. It looks different from the other bolts and has a sealing washer under it. Put an oil drain pan under the bike. Remove the check bolt. Slowly add oil until it starts to drip out of the check hole. Install the check bolt and run the engine for a few minutes – to allow the oil to lubricate all parts in the crankcase. Stop the engine and let the bike sit for a few minutes – to allow the oil to settle to the bottom of the crankcase. Bike upright and check the oil level. Remove the check bolt.
