How Much of the Blade Should Be Exposed?

0

The basic rule of thumb is…use your thumb. When the blade is properly installed, the tip should be barely visible and you should be able to gently run you thumb across the blade without drawing blood. The more technical answer is that the blade tip depth should extend past the plunger tip the same distance that is equal to the thickness of the vinyl. Sometimes this is hard to see. Therefore, to verify the blade depth, hold the tool in your hand, [and] draw a circle on the vinyl. If the cut circle on the vinyl can be pulled up, the blade is extended far enough.
