How much of my donation goes directly toward services (stoves)?
100% of your donation goes directly to our non-profit partner organizations. Of that amount, roughly 10% goes to cover non-profit administrative and marketing costs. So a minimum of 90% of your donation is utilized directly on project costs which benefit families in need. The $42 donation for a stove donation covers the cost of the stove itself, transportation of the stove from the manufacturer to Kenya, any tariffs or taxes, ground transportation to the rural areas where they are to be distributed. It also covers demonstrations, product education and in-country marketing to inform local people of the benefits and value of the stoves plus a nominal amount in administrative and processing fees.
