How much of a time commitment are the Basic Keelboat and Lifeguard Training optional courses on Bravo?
Free time is always incorporated into our days and evenings. When we’re not sailing, students can take advantage of a wide range of activities, including watersports and optional courses. Students who enroll in Lifeguard Training must come to the Caribbean already certified in two American Red Cross courses: CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED as well as First Aid Basics. These students will wake up early a few times to view instructional videos, and will use a portion of their beach days to learn the practical skills required for certification. About half of their otherwise free time will be dedicated to this course. Even so, they’ll also get the chance to enjoy waterskiing, kayaking, and our other various water sports whenever possible. The Basic Keelboat certification is a bit different because it is a “challenge course”.
