How much notice to quit retail job in Canada?

There is no law that dictates the notice you must give. But professionalism dictates a two week notice regardless of the job, as a minimum. You are confused about the 3 month period. That is the “trial” period and you may quit or be fired during that time (or any time, really). But if you quit, it is still unprofessional to quit without a two week notice. Do you know why we give two week’s notice? So that they have time to find a replacement. If they can’t find someone to replace you, you put them in a very hard position and everyone else has to make up for you not being there. Give two weeks unless there is an emergency and you cannot.
