How much more is solid brick as opposed to brick with holes on the side?

Bricks with holes are engineering bricks which are fired at a higher temperature and much heavier than ordinary house bricks. They have the holes in them simply because of the weight issue. They are more expensive as it is more costly to manufacture them. A standard house brick should cost approximately 25p each whilst an engineering brick can be twice as much.
