How much money would I need to start a business or to buy into a franchise?

All franchises have a minimum capital requirement. You need money to: 1. Buy the franchise license 2. Get a location (I’m assuming you aren’t getting involved with a so-called home-based franchise – most of these are of questionable value). 3. Get your equipment. 4. Get all your business licenses. 5. Pay a security deposit and landlord start up fees and first few months rent. 6. Pay your employees for a couple of months at least – a year is more like it. 7. Buy initial merchandise if you need it. A lot of this depends on where you live. Also, sometimes you can buy the assets of an existing business, take over a lease, and reduce some of your expenses.
