How much money is spent on administration of my runner pack?
Each event is set up with a target amount of net income to raise. In order to put on the event, and attract people to take part, we need to spend some money. Our involvement in the BUPA Great Run series is a very cost effective way of raising funds. For every £1 we spend, we receive £8, which is wonderful. It costs £20 to cover one hour of Marie Curie Nursing, so this money is vital to keep the service going. Last year we raised a staggering amount, with monies still being received from runners and are on target to raise £1.6 million at a cost of £92,378 (Figures as at Dec 08) We are proud of this ratio. Our events are just one of many ways for people to support us financially – supporters can also: • get involved in our Great Daffodil Appeal • volunteer in one of many roles in our offices and Hospices • make a regular gift through their salary • leave us a gift in their will. We recognise that individuals have different preferences as to how they support us.
