How much money is being appropriated for PEPFAR? How much will come to South Africa and when?
The U.S. Congress appropriated over $2 billion for 2004 to begin the initiative. In 2005 that amount incurred to $2.8 billion. South African programs received nearly $89 million in PEPFAR resources during 2004 and $148 million in 2005. During 2006, PEPFAR will provide, approximately $221 million to support programs in South Africa.
