How much money has John Henry made off the red sox bandwagon? ?
I’m sure John Henry has made a lot of money on the Red Sox. He’s marketed the heck out of that team and Fenway Park. It’s helped that the team has won championships, but his group has done a lot to spread the team’s image. They’ve added the Monster seats, sold more ad space on the Green Monster, licensed the team’s name to all kinds of merchandise (including scratch-off lottery games), and actually trademarked the “Red Sox nation” name and started an official RSN complete with membership cards and presidential elections. I don’t know how much money he’s made exactly, but the Red Sox are one of the most profitable teams in baseball now. (Not the most valuable. That title still belongs to the Yankees. Consider that George Steinbrenner bought the Yankees in 1973 for $10 million. The team is now worth more than $1 billion and will be worth a lot more when the new Yankee Stadium opens next year.)
