How much money do Physical Therapists make a year?
You may but initially, you will need a big outlay to purchase equipment and renting/buying a space. Then there is the overhead of office stuff, lights, heat, insurance, malpractice, a medical biller, receptionist, etc. Also in this day and age, insurance reimbursement is not at is best. Many co pays are 40 dollars and patients are only coming for a few visits. Medicaid reimbursement is less than 15 dollars a visit. Then your student loans come into play. You will need to pay health insurance for you and your staff. You will not get paid for taking time off but will need to pay your staff. You would do better doing home care and working your butt off. Also as a new grad, you are better working in a facility with other therapist, to learn by watching others. You can always learn new things by working with other therapist. I do not recommend a new therapist work in a place where they are by themselves even if they work for someone elso. Work with a mentor. PT is a great field. Salaries ha
