How much money do I need to have to score 10 points for maintenance?
If you are going to be here for 9 months or less, you need to have your full course fees + ?600 for each month of the course. If you are going to stay in the UK for more than 12 months, you need to have the first year of fees + ?5,400 per yearto cover the first year. You need to able to show that you have the required maintenance (funds) when you apply for a visa to come to the UK from your home country. The maintenance (funds) can be: • Cash in a bank account that you can draw on; or • Official financial or government sponsorship. Please note any other accounts or financial instruments such as shares, bonds, pension funds regardless of notice period are not acceptable. Maintenance (funds) can be proven by the following documents: • Personal bank or building society statements; • Letter from a bank; • Letter form a regulated financial institution confirming funds or loan will be released to you when you get your visa; • Letter of official financial or government sponsorship.
