Total contributions to the American Red Cross in fiscal year 1996 were $572 million, including federated fund-raising efforts by United Way and Combined Federal Campaign, disaster relief donations, legacies and bequests, grants, in-kind donations of services and materials, and other materials. Revenues from American Red Cross biomedical services, program materials, contracts, investment income and gains, and other revenues totaled more than $1.2 billion in fiscal year 1996. Total contributions, revenues, and gains were $1.81 billion in fiscal year 1996, up 5 percent from $1.72 billion the previous year.
