How much money can be saved with split-shifts?
Nothing. Split-shifts require a second set of teachers, cooks, bus drivers, school secretaries, administrators, and an additional school nurse. Running two shifts actually shortens the life span of school buildings and furniture. Energy costs will increase, since the buildings will need to be heated or cooled for longer periods of time.
