How much memory does Laundry-Trak require?
There is no set memory requirement since if a PC has enough memory to properly run the version of Windows that has been installed, it will typically have more than enough memory to run Laundry-Trak. What is required for those PC’s that will be connected to a scale? All that is needed is a an actual serial port card. This is a requirement. We have found USB-Serial cables/converters to work unreliably and are particularly unacceptable with newer operating systems such as Windows 7. An actual serial port involves a minimal (under $40) cost yet ensures reliable, dependable operation. Since new computers now typically do not include a pre-configured serial port, this simply needs to be taken into account when purchasing a new computer.
