I think you need to have as much space on the disk as you need for work and just keep track of its filling. Many people delete unnecessary files, format the system, forget what they really need, and then pay money to restore them from a hard drive or sdd and spend a lot of time. I’ve been using a special Dissy cleaner for a long time and it scans the system, removing only unnecessary files.
