The Honeywell engine is definitely louder on the ground than the PT6 (probably twice as loud) at idle. During takeoff, climb-out, and cruise, the Honeywell engine is quieter than the PT6 by at least 3 dB( A) as compared to the PT6A-114A with 106″ 3-blade McCauley.
