How much locker space is there in the Norfolk Urchin, Oyster, Gypsy and Smuggler and how has it been planned?
Bearing in mind that the builder, Charlie Ward, has sailed this type of boat all his life (over 40 years) and more latterly with three young children, a considerable amount of practical knowledge has been gained enabling him to work closely with Andrew Wolstenholme and John Leather (both of whom also have a lifetimes experience cruising in these type of boats) to design the detail layout of the boats and locker space with care, in a practical manner. Owners of our boats are constantly commenting on the fact that the layout ‘really does work and every small bit of space which could be usefully used has been adopted’. Bearing in mind that for the Urchin, Oyster and Gypsy, buoyancy has been fitted into the boat in areas which cannot usefully be otherwise used for locker space, this has created an enormous amount of internal space which has been adopted either as lockers or accommodation.
