How much local money will go into the improvements associated with Presidents’ Plaza?
At present, no additional local dollars will go into the construction of the improvements associated with the President’s Plaza. The City has received grants totaling approximately $6.5 million dollars from the federal government to pay for the Transit facility and related improvements. The initial design phase was paid by local dollars ($381,827.39) but construction plans are being paid by federal funds. There may be some local dollars advanced in the development of leasable commercial space associated with the Transit Center, but these will be repaid through leases of that property. That will be determined as detailed cost estimates are obtained.
