How Much Litter Is There?
The amount of litter at any point in time is affected by things such as variations in rainfall, wind and the usage of beaches, which in turn are all influenced by temperature and the time of the year. Street cleansing regimes and the amount of litter traps installed also affect the amount of litter at any point in time. More recently, our understanding of littering has expanded to include assessment of context, facilities, attitudes and perception and actions.
