How much lighter is light beer?
A. Most breweries produce their light beers at about an average of 30 to 40 less calories from their premium brand (per 12 ounce serving). As for the alcohol, it can vary from an average of only 0.4 percent to as much as 1.5 percent alcohol by volume, from light to premium depending on the brewery. Your best bet is not to worry about the calories in beer at all, but rather watch what you eat. In a 10 to 15 minute walk, or even 30 minutes of sleep, most people will burn off the difference between a light beer and regular beer. So maybe that double cheeseburger (McDonald’s runs about 480 calories for their double cheeseburger) is the culprit of your growing waistline and not the innocent regular beer. Don’t blame it on the dark beers either. Guinness Draught only has 120 calories compared to Bud Light which has 110 calories (per 12 ounce serving).
