Divide the square footage of the area that you need to cover by 27; this will give you the area in cubic yards. Next, the material will compact approximately 33% after it is first installed, so if you multiply your cubic yardage by 1.33 (33%), this will give you the amount of Kids Karpet needed to cover the area at a compacted 12″ depth. Ex. 5,000 square feet needs: 5,000 / 27 = 185.19 * 1.33 = 246.3 In the example above, 246 cubic yards of Kids Karpet is needed.
