How much is TURKISH LIRAs worth?
It’s very reasonable 🙂 Of course, some may try and give you “tourist prices” instead of the ordinary prices (some people increase the cost of things when they know the buyer is foreign). However, most of the Turkish community are fantastic, friendly people and will do everything in their power to help and assist you, providing you are polite and well-mannered. The average cost of a beer (local) is around 3 lira. Dinner for one is roughly 25 lira, including drink, starter and main. In the bazaars (markets) you can of course haggle prices. Everyday essentials such as bread, milk etc are also cheap, however exported goods are usually more expensive.
