How much is the solid waste services fee (i.e., trash fee)?

Per Ordinance #68698, passed in July, 2010, the fee is $11 per month per dwelling unit. City solid waste services are comprehensive and include twice weekly collection of solid waste, weekly collection of yard waste during “yard waste” season, and monthly pickup of bulky items (furniture, appliances, tires, waste motor oil, car batteries, etc.). In the coming months, we will be phasing in single-stream recycling throughout the City-when we do, one of the weekly “solid waste” pickups will become a “recycled solid waste” pickup. So solid waste will still be picked up twice per week, but one of the pickups will be for solid waste that can be recycled.
