I am making a website for a company but not sure what the going charge is. It depends on how many pages, and what they want. For a five page site I charge between $400-$1000 dollars, depending on how much content is on each page, and how much photoshop work I have to do. This is a price for a static website with an e-mail form and a little bit of javascript (rollover buttons, menus). If I have to do custom scripting I charge more. Estimate how much time the project will take you and pay yourself at least $50 an hour. It may sound like a lot, but remember, you have to pay your taxes, your business expenses, and your insurance.
