No. No, no, no, no, no. Please do yourself, the dogs, and the entire rescue community a favor and DO NOT buy a “designer” mixed breed dog! They aren’t “worth” any more than any mutt you will find in the pound, they aren’t an actual breed. They might call it a cute name like a “Shi-Poo” or “Shoodle” or whatever, but that’s just a made-up name to cover the fact that these people are irresponsibly breeding mutt puppies and trying to make a quick buck off of them, when there are literally thousands and thousands of mixed breeds dying every year in pounds across the country. If you are looking to adopt a mixed breed dog, please go to your local pound or a legitimate animal rescue in your area. You can certainly find a small mixed breed dog in the shelter or rescue, and they will be just as wonderful and loving as any dog you buy from a breeder. Also, mixed breeds from the shelter or rescue have health guarantees and likely have already been sterilized, which you won’t get from one of these
No more than the shelter adoption fee, since that is the only place anyone should be purchasing a mix from. If you would like a Shih Tzu Poodle mix, than I’m sure that you will be able to find more than enough of those on Petfinder.com. But, if you dont want to get one from a shelter, than research both Poodles and Shih Tzus’ and see which one better fits your life style, then find a reputable breeder for one or the other breed. You wont be able to find a reputable breeder that breeds mixes, I’m sorry. Good luck finding a dog right for you!
