I have actually been to the Dominican Republic several times. The value of the US Dollar to Dominican Pesos changes daily. The UD Dollar to any other countries dollar changes daily. This is one of the measures on how strong your countries economy is compared to another. According to Yahoo Finance http://finance.yahoo.com/currency/conver… the value today 3/1/08 is 1 USD = 33.65 Dominican Pesos. so $10.00 = 336.50 When you leave the Dominican you need $10.00 USD..you cannot (at least the last time I was there) convert money from Pesos to USD….so make sure you have $10.00 USD CASH with you at the airport as a departure tax.
