How much influence will the Supporters Trust director have on the board of the PLC?
The Supporters Trust director is a full member of the board. Hence he or she has the same ability as other directors to table matters for the agenda at board meetings and the same vote as other directors. If an issue goes to a vote on the board of directors then each director has one vote. It is only if an issue goes to a ballot of shareholders at a general meeting that the relative size of share holdings is the deciding factor. As at 1st March 2005, the board of directors of Wycombe Wanderers Football Club plc consists of five directors including both the Founders Trust’s director and the Supporters Trust’s director. It is to be expected that there will be a great deal of common interest between the views of members of the Founders and Supporters Trusts, it is helpful to have the two directors appointed by these organisations since they can support and reinforce one another’s points in representing the views of their memberships.
