At the beginning of the program, DoD had an inventory of approximately 257,000 family housing units. Current plans are to privatize roughly 190,000 to 195,000 or about 75 percent of existing family housing units worldwide. However there is no ceiling set on the number of units expected to be built or reconditioned under the MHPI.
