How Much Evidence Is There That Jesus Christ Actually Existed Than Julius Caesar, Plato,Ancient People Groups?
There is a huge body of historical and physical evidence for the real existence of Julius Caesar, Plato, and most other non-mythical ancient people (Odysseus, for instance, was not a real historical figure). However, there is absolutely zero evidence for the existence of a single biblical Jesus Christ figure as described in the Gospels. As near as historians can determine, he is a pastiche of three historical figures with similar names (Yessui, Yeshua, Yessua), who lived in Galilee in the first century. One was indeed crucified by the Romans, but he was only a common criminal. One was the son of Mary of Nazareth, but she was no virgin, as her son was the result of an adulterous relationship with a Roman soldier called Pantheras, who was stationed in Nazareth while Joseph was away carpentering.
