LED Christmas lights are about 98% more efficient than the old incandesant bulbs someone truthfully reported but did you know that they also last, at least, about 10,000 hours, and that is being on constantly. Over a year, and if you turn them off every day, after burning about 5 hours a day, which would be normal, they will last about 5 full years, two months around Christmas time, they will then last about 30 years which makes them very cost efficient. I will not buy any more lights that are not LED. I see that now you can get screw in LED bulbs that will replace directly your 100 watt incandessant. WOW! From burning 100 watts of electricity now you can get the same amount of light and burn only about 2 watts. They cost more to purchase but, it seems, they are well worth the extra money.
