How much EGCG is in Tetley® teas?
EGCG stands for epigallocatechin gallatem and is one of the most powerful natural antioxidant flavonoids known (and there’s loads of it in green tea, along with other antioxidants—hence the health links). A brewed cup of green tea can contain from 40 to 120 milligrams of EGCG, but this will vary depending on the type and origin of the tea, as well as the brewing method. Our decaffeinated green tea also contains EGCG but less than regular tea (50–75% as much), because the decaffeination process can remove some of the EGCG, as well as the caffeine.
