How much effort and skill is required to modify or create PRO-Gen templates?

Not difficult—we use either Eclipse or JBuilder, or, in the case of a Struts or JavaServer Faces JSP, DreamWeaver or one of the freebie XML editing plug-ins for Eclipse. Having updated the templates countless times, template modification workflow can be outlined as follows: 1> Manually modify the classes, JSPs or other files required to implement the global enhancement(s) you want. Copy the original generated files with the customary ~ suffix before modification. 2> Get the functionality you want with a small set of related classes / JSPs etc. 3> Diff the modified files with the original files~ (windiff.exe is a nice tool for this and it runs great under wine). 4> Use your favorite Java editor to paste in the diffs into the templates. Rerun PRO-Gen and voilá, your changes are implemented. It is not rocket science.
