How much does value and ethics matter in life?
Only to the extent we value our own self-esteem, and seek some satisfaction out of upholding ourselves in our own view. Perhaps that is the only thing we really carry forward at the end of our life. All other gains and losses are left behind! If at all a few people around happen to notice our values and ethics, and become successful in highlighting us, the advantages, so gained are also purely incidental, and like other gains, have to be left behind too!
