It depends on what college you go to. It will take 4 years of undergrad study and another 4 years in vet school. Tuition will be less in your undergrad years but this is increasing every year. In general, public state universities cost less than private colleges. You can try to get scholarships, work-study, loans, etc. to help you through. I went to a large state university and paid around $17,000 a year (tuition + room/board). I’m now in med school and paying $50,000 a year (tuition, living expenses). Obviously med school is not vet school, but the expenses are probably very similar. Education is definitely expensive these days, but it is still worth pursuing if you are passionate about your chosen field.
