How much does the Tuition Assistance Program Pay?
A. The North Dakota National Guard Tuition Assistance Program will reimburse AIR GUARD members 100% of their basic tuition costs, up to UND rates. This is divided between the school reimbursing 25% of the basic tuition and the difference being reimbursed by the National Guard, both after successful completion of the semester. ARMY GUARD members will be reimbursed up to $500 by the National Guard Tuition Assistance Program and 25% by the college or university, up to the undergraduates rates at UND, after successful completion of the semester. In addition, the federal government will pay the difference up front between the total tuition cost and certain fees less the $500 and 25% school portions. The National Guard portion of the benefit will be based on the number of credit hours successfully completed as follows: 12 or more credits $500 per semester 9-11 credits $375 per semester 6-8 credits $250 per semester 3-5 credits $125 per semester 2.
