How much does the Picomotor overshoot?
Unlike most motorized systems, the Picomotor is an overdamped system, so there is very little overshoot. Overdamped systems overshoot and oscillate until they settle down. As an overdamped system, the Picomotor shows no overshooting down to an accuracy of 5 nm. Thus, you can estimate that the settling time is on the order of a single pulse or about 1 ms.
